l10n process

Here the translation team (currently leaded by Ark74) will define and explain the l10n process followed to support a new language on the h-node project and alike.

  • h-source
  • The h-node site is developed and updated by the h-source project:

The h-source contains so far two main files to manage configuration:

    1. languages.php
    2. This file contains the main sentences that are the structure of the site, and allow to add new localizations of the site, and improve the current l10n on the site.

      It is contained on
      /Application/Include/languages.php
    3. index.php
    4. This page contains the help page on every language available, so far we have:

      index_de.php index_es.php index_fr.php index_it.php

Every file has the help page on their localized language

      The files are contained on
      /Application/Views/Help/
  • h-node - wiki
  • The wiki translation is web based not-like the h-source one, so in order to work on l10n first there must be an article that you might wanna translate from Englis to another language or vice versa.

Every article that is localized must end with the lang tag, to link that article to the localized one.

i.e.: The main wiki page has this lang tag to link between English, Italian & Spanish.

    [ lang ]
    [ [Pagina Principale|Italiano] ]
    [ [Página Principal|Español] ]
    [ /lang ]

  • h-client
  • So far we're still discussing the proper method to start the l10n of the client.

    Progress

The translation work is done one week every three, this way the l10n work gather on two weeks of development can be processed on another.
