This laptop has a whitelist of approved (IBM branded) WiFi cards if using the default Bios. This will prevent most WiFi cards from working.

Installing Libreboot will eliminate the whitelist and allow the use of any compatible wifi card .

The X series laptops that have the s suffix feature lower voltage and slightly slower processor chips compared to models without the s suffix.
