this card requires non-free firmware
by sudoman, 18:14, 5 February 2011
I don't know why this card is marked as working with free software. With every GNU/Linux system that I've installed on my computer using this card, I've had to install the b43 firmware using b43-fwcutter or a non-free package. There is no Free or open source code for this blob.
I take it back

Ok, someone told me about openfwwf. I didn't know about it. sorry for the confusion!
have you tested it?

Hi sudoman, have you tried the wifi card with Trisquel (4.0 or later)? Does it work?

No, I have not. I might try openfwwf with my Debian installation though.
maranello project

a friend of mine told me that also the maranello project is developing free firmware (http://www.cs.umd.edu/projects/maranello/)

PS: you should also use the linux-libre kernel for your test..
