This product seems to be the newest in the Atheros Communications Inc TP-Link TL-WN821N line, and quite similar in name to the TL-WN821N v3.1 listed here at h-node. Both v3.1 and v4.1 don't work with free software and require nonfree firmware to run. Note in some online product listings it is impossible to find the "v" number before receiving the product.
