The sound card on this netbook presents some details with Slaine, when using it at full volume the sound gets saturated.
I removed the internal speaker on my machine, so I can't speak to the performance on that. However, the sound is incredibly low when using headphones. I tested it with two different headphones and experienced the same thing. Technically, the sound card works, but it is all but unusable except in the quietest of environments. (Trisquel 6)
* Under Taranis i've tested the OSS driver (oss_hdaudio) and it improves the card performance (http://trisquel.info/es/node/2157) but it doesn't enable the other two jacks.Note: I suggest to avoid change ALSA for OSS if you're planning to make an upgrade from Taranis to Slaine
Tested with the newest libre kernel (5.1.6) with ALSA. It has none of the problems mentioned above: the sound is loud, has no artifacts and CPU usage impact is minimal. December 2019 test with the 5.3.8 kernel on a different computer, it still works.
