Description:
The computer could run Coreboot (before upstream removed support for it), but it still had a number of issues that: * The integrated GPU (ATI) didn't work with fully free software: Like most/all Nvidia or AMD/ATI GPUs, there is a nonfree video BIOS which is required for the Linux driver to work. That nonfree code is typically provided by the BIOS or the GPU itself when it's a discrete GPU. * I don't remember if it has the nonfree SMU firmware included as hex in Coreboot source or not. If it doesn't, it can probably boot with only free software, which is good enough for many use cases like server.
