If nothing is working why is here?
by iShareFreedom, 15:02, 23 June 2022
as nothing work in this computer, why isnt deleted? Who want a computer where you cant open a TTY or the graphical enviroment? if you can install it in the HDD or SDD, that dont mean the hardware support the free software. I recommend eliminate it from h-node.org
Is it really caused by Xe Graphics?
by NOEU, 10:56, 29 June 2022
I know that on a VAIO SX12 with an 11th generation Intel CPU (Xe Graphics), all other hardware features except WiFi and Bluetooth work with the Linux-Libre kernel (5.10). Therefore, I feel that the reports of not being able to launch the desktop due to Xe Graphics may be due elsewhere. I think it is worthwhile for me to include information about hardware that does not work at all with the Linux-Libre kernel, in that someone else can get the information that "it does not work on this hardware".
Update and replies

First I would like to reply to the kind peoples above.

@iShareFreedom, I inserted this since I own this device, and it is very unique. There's (only) a handful of similar products out there, so some light should be shed on this type of machines (contemporary UMPC packed with Intel Xe Graphics). It doesn't matter whether it works or not now, what it matters is to supply the information, and encourage people to contradict and correct me.

@NOEU, I'm going to use some more distros to test this, stay tuned! I think Debian and Uruk may do the trick.

Second, I must say this device is somehow wreched, but it is actually quite Linux friendly.

It sure has a weird screen (on both external and internal aspects), but anything other than this worked quite fine without much tweak while I'm using Manjaro on it. In fact I expected far more glitches, but it is now just my daily driver. The vendor do have some attention to Linux, and all we need is to do is to contact them, let them know their product is welcomed in Linux so next time they will consider being more linux-friendly.
Debian test results

Debian works! @iShareFreedom It works perfectly, beside the AX210 wifi. So it's a Silver now :)
Mistake Correction

Debian included non-free firmware by default, and I forgot about that. So the Silver score is no longer valid, sorry for my mistake...

Write below your motivation
