differences in the entry: Description
[p]- for proper function (Fn) keys, brightness management, enable/disable WiFi adapter option on hardware level, fan regulation support etc. is recommended the use of samsung-tools ([a]http://launchpad.net/samsung-tools[/a]) utility, which is being actively developed by Fortunato Ventre ([a]http://voria.org/forum/[/a]; additional info: it depends upon easy-slow-down-manager tool ([a]http://code.google.com/p/easy-slow-down-manager/[/a])[/p]

[p]- installation of libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental is needed for proper GPU acceleration; after that majority of nouveau lock-ups occur no more, nevertheless you should be careful with every kernel update[/p]

[p]- please take this bug report seriously into account in case of any further suspicious behavior ([a]http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26980[/a] and [a]http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/553789[/a])[/p]

[p]- taken from Nouveau Companion 44 newsletter:
2.9. 7 - The *lovely* bug 26980 AKA random lockup on nva3/5/8/f

If you have an nva3,5,8 or f, I bet you know what I'm talking about. Every once in a while, but up to several times a day, your computer would just lockup. Also, some people seem to be more affected by this bug than others.

We really don't know the cause of this bug. We are deeply sorry, we are trying our best to fix this, but we can't spend all our time on it, we need to move on.

If you're really affected by this bug, here are some work-around:

* Deactivate the hardware acceleration: Add nouveau.noaccel=1 to your kernel command line
* Use the now-unmaintained official open nvidia driver xf86-video-nv (if you can)
* Use the blob
* Get an older card or wait for the nvc0 support to become mainline and buy a cheap nvc0-family card

Here is the bug report on the freedesktop's bug tracker: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26980
[/p]

[p]- specified Vimicro web-cam vendor is unexpectedly shown by lsusb tool as
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0ac8:c342 Z-Star Microelectronics Corp.
[/p]

[p]* weird & kinda sad thing is that my model NP-R580-JS01CZ which comes in configuration with Intel Core i3 processor, does not offer you integrated Intel GMA HD graphics (you can neither enable/disable it in BIOS - missing option, nor it is listed by lspci)[/p]

[p]** expect proper out-of-the-box brightness regulation starting with kernel 2.6.38, I've tested this case with GNOME 3 and KDE 4.6 environments under rolling Parabola GNU/Linux-Libre[/p] GNU/Linux-Libre; also Nouveau graphics driver seems to be more stable with every update[/p]
