Add an option for additional details under "free boot firmware"
submitted by TryHardDieHard, 11:45, 15 August 2014
TOPIC: new categories of hardware
STATUS: opened
PRIORITY: low
Description:
I was recently editing the T60 (20007V7Z) article. Libreboot supports the T60 models with Intel moterboards but not those with ATI motherboards. There was no option to explain that in the options under "does it have a free boot firmware (BIOS,UEFI,...) ?". I would like to see an option for "can be installed, see description for details".

Wrong topic, sorry about that.

mtjm:

If you have an idea how to provide more useful information on support for free boot firmware without making it too hard for users who aren't boot firmware developers to type this information, write to the mailing list.

It's not an issue specific to boot firmware. We have separate entries for T60 with Intel or ATI graphics which affects also e.g. support for 3d acceleration.
