Hi aloniv,

you should find the vendor name on the device itself (or written on the device box). Sometimes it is sold by a vendor even if the chipset is made by a third vendor. It is not Ralink since the Ralink vendor id is 1814 (you have inserted 7392).

Is seams the vendor is Edimax Technology Co., please verify. It is not currently inserted inside the list of the allowed vendors, it will be inserted as soon as possible.

Have you tried to type something like this?

sudo ifconfig wlan1 up
No verification possible...

...since I checked this out in a shop and didn't buy it. I also didn't type anything in the terminal other than lsusb. It was marketed in the shop as Edimax so I suppose that is the correct vendor. Is this chipset supposed to work using free software?

probably requires the files that are here: http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=2 I assume the license isn't a free one, but I have no intention of giving my email in order to find out.
looks like it's gplv2

If you go on edimax.com and look at the drivers section on some of the usb adapters I downloaded the archive and I glanced at some of the code it seems to be licensed with gplv2. The archive I downloaded is RT3070_Linux_STA_v2.0.1.0.tar.zip. I didn't check all of the wireless adapters though, but now you know that's a good place to look. I don't have this card to check if it works though.
