Hi tonicucoz, I'm not really sure which kernel I used when I tried it out, 2.6.32-28 and above are capable of running that scanner, also some older versions are, but as I said not very sure how far down it goes. The genesys backend for sane is what makes the scanner work (but only for b/w scans in 300dpi, nothing else!).
