It works under Trisquel 7 as a network printer, both with direct connection (using the printer's internal WiFi AP) and with a normal LAN connection (printer and PC in the same LAN via a home router).
USB printing not tested (it looks like USB needs proprietary drivers).
Scanning:
Scanning to USB works (no computer connection required).
Scanning to local PC doesn't work with free software (samsung's software needed).
Scanning to network PC doesn't work with free software (samsung's software needed).
