Descrizione:
On the help page in the section "like discovering the graphics acceleration", is written "try to enable compiz," but I think it is much easier by run in terminal:
glxinfo | grep direct
(and answer "yes" if 3D acceleration works) or
glxgears
(showing a window about gears turning, if be enabled 3D acceleration) To use these commands must be installed mesa-utils package. Greetings and sorry for my english.

Hello Khany, thanks for your suggestion. Are your sure that this is equivalent to trying to enable compiz? For example with Trisquel 4.0 I can't enable compiz, I can't use 3d effects but the command suggested by you gives: direct rendering: Yes . I can also see turning gears. What does this means?

mtjm:
"direct rendering: Yes" is possible also when a software renderer is used, when 3d acceleration doesn't work. Even if it works, glxgears doesn't use most of OpenGL features needed for typical programs, so it can work with drivers crashing on OpenGL-using games. Thus it shows probably not what the user wants to know about the device.
