Vendors should be evaluated for support

For example many nvidia video cards are nowadays supported by free software. Yet this is completely no thanks to nvidia which makes nvidia a free software non-friendly company. The work has been done by independent individuals by painstaking reverse-engineering. I think the vendors should be given similar ratings as the pieces of hardware, i.e. bronze, silver, gold, platinum etc. The vendor names should also work as links that would take one to a page with a summary of the current stance and history of the company with regards to free software support and attitude. Good vendors deserve our support and bad vendors deserve a kick in the crotch. It is not currently possible to evaluate to which category a vendor belongs based on the h-node data.

ok, this info could be useful, perhaps in the future we could be able to add such feature. For now the problem is the time to develop all these new parts.. I will put it in the queue..

The problem is this can be highly subjective, and also change. A vendor can produce two pieces of well-supported hardware, get a good rating, then their next-hardware is locked. Without a proper methodology and regular ranking updates, I don't think h-node should implement this for now.
