TOPIC: add a vendor name

I would like to add a firwire card, but I don't see a category for it - acquisition cards maybe ?
It doesn't exist, I will add it as soon as possible

Assuming it's a host controller, are all such cards specific to FireWire? It's unclear for me if there should be another category for devices providing support for connecting other devices, there is already one for Bluetooth and we could later add one for USB host controllers (although these probably all just work so they won't need one). Are there FireWire controllers that don't work with free software?

I don't know, in the SVN version I've already added PCMCIA Controllers and RAID adapters, someone asked to add HECI Controller.. do you yhink we should add a unique category called "host controller" or something similar that should have a subtype to specify the type of the controller?

Type: host controller

  • HECI
  • Firewire

Ok. Maybe have also Bluetooth as subtype, and have an interface field (e.g. PCI or USB).
