This is the built in USB 3.1 port for the Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming motherboard. It also works on Trisquel 9.0. It works out of the box. I tested various hard drives and flash drives and all were recognized.
The Vendor ID I provided was for the subsystem, the one above that in terminal was 1b21:1343.
